Post Punk Podge & The Technohippies is a figment of punk and the post's collective imagination in the form of a singer/ranter/musician from Limerick, Ireland.

An accomplished violinist, Podge’s goal is to turn the brown envelope from a symbol of corruption, deception and greed into one of self-expression, defiance and laughter. Accompanied by his sidekicks Dr. Asparagus Montague and DJ Carey and Mr. The Boom is Back, they are stirring things up in their native Ireland with their own sound, a blend of Punk, Electronic, Krautrock, Techno, Irish Traditional music, Hip Hop and Classical.

October 2017 saw Podge collaborated on the 'Stark Raving EP' with Naive Ted, as well as release the debut Post Punk Podge and The Technohippies EP 'Kick Against The Pricks',
a month later.
2018 saw even further collaborations with Jimmy Penguin on his Savages EP, as well as the single ‘Home is Where the Heart Bleeds’, which raised money for the Novas homeless charity in Limerick.

2019 saw a single 'Government Security' in January, 'Post Millennium Tension EP' in February. Collaborations with Craic Boi Mental, Liv 3 and DJ BleakStack to name but a few. They released ‘Transmissions from the G.P.O.’ an instrumental mixtape on the Unscene label at the end of 2019.
Which showed many other styles to their sound including funk and ambient.
They released their album ‘Euphoric Recall’ in 2021 to critical acclaim coming in at #9 in the Thin Air’s end of year list. Things are now only getting started for Podge and the band.

These highly acclaimed releases helped them build a firm following to become one of Ireland’s most exciting bands. They released two singles in 2022 followed by a new album in September 2024: ‘Keep on Raving in the First World’.

Their live shows are a full-on high-energy assault on the senses.
Armed with his violin, an array of effects pedals and a microphone, Podge stalks the stage with all the menace of Johnny Rotten, accompanied by Mr. The Boom is Back on guitar and backing vocals and DJ Carey on laptop and controller and backing vocals.

The 2018 & 2019 era saw them leave a trail of money, degrees and chaotic noise wherever they played including Body & Soul, Electric Picnic, Glastonbury, and Knockanstockan festivals to name but a few. In 2020 Podge had the song 'Still at The Music' a collaboration with Messyng feature on the Litany of Failures Volume III record.

PPP&TH played Feile Na Greine, a headline show and two shows at Electric Picnic at Brutopolis and Trailer Park stages to huge crowds in 2022 as well as headlining the Saturday night of the Clonakilty Guitar Festival in 2022. The band returned to Electric Picnic and All Together Now in 2023 and 2024. They played the Trailer Park stage and The Last City stages.

In contrast to this, Podge also took to the stage with rappers Murli, God Knows, and DJ/Producer Naïve Ted in the National Concert Hall. 2024 saw them tour Ireland and play Electric Picnic and All Together now and support their pals the Mary Wallopers in Vicar St. In 2025 they playe Craoi stage at Electric Picnic and Beyond the Pale festivals. They gigged extensively both these years.  This year they have played throughout Ireland in Cork, Limerick, Dublin and Newbridge. They plan to release a new album this October called 'Cost of Living Prizes'. Other collaborative songs will also be released from August onwards.

Post Punk Podge & The Technohippies enjoy subverting genres and fusing comedic elements with a serious social conscience and message of defiance against injustices in the world.
Lyrically, Podge tackles issues such as depression and anxiety, as well as the current state of affairs in Ireland and the wider world, all intertwined with his trademark wit.

They are too fat for pigeonholes and revel in their unique freedom of expression through the medium of post-punk and everything in between. They have played numerous charity shows for Palestine red crescent society and for Palestinian aid. They have raised money for Adapt House, Focus Ireland to name but a few.  He has played strings on songs by Fonda, Hey Rusty, TOOMS, The Shaking, Bleeding Heart Pigeons and The PVP to name a few.
